Take Ownership of Your Life
Are you taking ownership of your life? Today my morning devotions, as well as some of the stuff I've been seeing on Twitter and Instagram has me wondering if we are actually taking ownership over our lives. Based on some of what I see on social media it seems as some of us let stereotypes determine who we can be. When I was growing up, my family told me I could be anything I wanted. The imagery I saw on a daily basis, as a black male, told me that I had to be an athlete or an entertainer. This is absolutely false. At a certain point we have, despite the media and stereotypes, we must take ownership over who and what we are to become. Sure it will be harder for some than others, and their will be obstacles. But you can be, wait, you will be successful at anything you decide to be. Never settle. Work hard and have faith and you will triumph.
