Are you living out your dreams at all costs?I recently realized that the vision for The Opened Box was birthed in my childhood. In the LES (Lower East Side, NYC) there's this 3 story abandoned building that we referred to as "the white house." The white house has probably been closed since the 1970's. When it was opened probably resembled a boys and girls club. The building is still closed down and sits in the middle of LaGuadia Houses, a public housing development. I spent most of my childhood in LaGuadia. I always thought to myself when I make it as a star athlete I'm going to come back and reopened this building for the community. Well sports didn't work out but the vision still resurfaced in the form of The Opened Box almost 2 decades later. Ultimately I envision The Opened Box's facility having a space for worship, a gym and area for classes. I also envision it being open 24 hours for the community. As I was mapping this idea out I realized it stemmed from "the white house." The vision never died, although I thought it did when I wasn't able to become a star athlete.
