Who is giving equality to the LGBT community, God or the Devil? [reflection/blog]

Jason Collins just became the first openly gay male to sign a major sports contract, signing to The New Jersey Nets.  In contrast,  Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is trying to decide whether or not to sign a bill that will allow businesses not to serve those who are LGBT based on religious beliefs.  With the LGBT community fighting for equality (and getting some wins) one must ask themselves, who is giving them equality God or the Devil?

The conservative voice says we must hold strong to the scriptures by upholding Christian marriage between man and a woman. The liberal voice says this is matter of human or civil rights and that the LGBT community must have the same rights as heterosexuals.

The question that comes up for me is, has the Devil/Enemy ever provided equal rights in the Bible as a scheme to trick a society or humanity?  I really cannot think of any Biblical references as it relates to the enemy using equality as a trick. If you can think of any please post them in the comments section below.

So this is where we stand, Jason can play freely while not being subjected to discrimination, and businesses in Arizona (if passed) can kick those who they think are gay out of their establishments.  Let’s be real here not all those who are LGBT are easily identifiable, so how will this work? Right, it gets kind of sketchy.

So you tell me, where is God moving on the issue of equality for those in the LGBT community?  Is God for equal rights or is God for legal discrimination?  What are your thoughts?  Better yet, pray and let us know what God is telling you!

Interesting Brandon. Are you saying the LGBT community should be kicked out of restaurants and businesses and not be afforded the opportunity to play sports?

Hey Terrell. Oh no, anyone is welcomed to do what they want, my issue is that LGBT along with other sins of the world are gaining more acceptance from society. And the devil is the master mind behind all of this. That’s my opinion.
