God's Will

"We are afraid to know God's will because we are afraid its not our own." This quote right here caught me off guard. How many times have I prayed for or pursued something but didn't ask God if it was God's will for me to have it?We pursue our dreams and goals. We pursue a good job and great relationships. In carving out our own paths we often get what we want. I'm willing to bet that which we desire isn't always what's best for us. We pray for breakthroughs but are we asking for God's will to take place in our lives?God's will may not always be what we want, and we may be afraid of that. I remember seeking out high paying jobs, asking God to open the doors, but never asking God if I should walk through. I didn't ask for God's will because I didn't want to hear "no", "not now", "wait" or "this is not your career path." Those are some tough answers when you desire something. But how much time and trouble would we save ourselves if we didn't have to go through the situations we placed ourselves in? When we seek alignment with God's will this will happen [you fill in the blank]

We pursue our dreams and goals. We pursue a good job and great relationships. In carving out our own paths we often get what we want. I’m willing to bet that which we desire isn’t always what’s best for us. We pray for breakthroughs but are we asking for God’s will to take place in our lives?

God’s will may not always be what we want, and we may be afraid of that. I remember seeking out high paying jobs, asking God to open the doors, but never asking God if I should walk through. I didn’t ask for God’s will because I didn’t want to hear “no”, “not now”, “wait” or “this is not your career path.” Those are some tough answers when you desire something. But how much time and trouble would we save ourselves if we didn’t have to go through the situations we placed ourselves in?
