Will we ever really know GOD’s plans for our life or current situation? If we never receive the full blueprint maybe we can at least have a peace of mind.

Jeremiah 29 11- 12 states:

11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. 12 Then when you call upon me and come and pray to me, I will hear you.

I came across this passage as I was hurrying to finish a class assignment.  GOD knows the plans GOD has for me and they are not for harm. Not only that, GOD hears me as I call out in confusion not knowing why in the world am I in this strange and mysterious place.  This passage right here is telling me that where I’m at is not for my harm it’s for my welfare or completeness (from the Hebrew word shalowm).

This will provide comfort for me but what about others who may feel in a state of exile or abandonment? I see a few things we may be able to do improve our mind state.

1.       Communicate with GOD constantly.  Verse 12 states that when we call upon the Lord and pray to the Lord, GOD will hear you.   Not only are we calling (or crying out) we are also praying as well.  The writer of the text separates these as two distinct acts of communication.

2.       GOD knows the plan and GOD hears you but we sometimes must realize just because we aren’t comfortable with the plan doesn’t mean GOD will change it.  So pray for peace and understanding with your situation constantly.

3.       Posture ourselves in a position where we are moving towards GOD.  Verse 12 also state that you come (or go) to GOD you will be heard.  What I gather from this is we must strive to get closer to GOD daily in order to strengthen our relationship.
